15" PowerBook + 20" ACD = :)

march06border0cn.png

Pseudo-Clean / Durrrrty (always the most fun) / Dashed / Front Row-ed

Feel free to leave comments here or in Flickr.. yes, I know, it's a boring blue gradient background, sorry :(

(I included Front Row cause I finally got the new version working on my PowerBook after fracking up my menu bar a few times.. plus the icons are pretty ;))

What is that turn dial app for iTunes, how do you get the title of your song in the bottom of the screen....I actually like your background (and no I'm not kidding)

Is it me, or do I see people in the background? :p

Ha, it does indeed look like it. Sony also has a moving version of this image as their commercial for the Bravia LCD TV line. I have yet to figure out whether the balls were animated in afterwards or whether they did this for real. If they did, it must've made one hell of a mess

Edit: here's a link to the commerical (kind of crumby quality, but you get the idea):

Edit2: upon further inspection it turns out its real! http://www.bravia-advert.com/commercial/braviamakingoflowqt.html

I don't remember where, but there is a very high quality version of this online somewhere. I think it was the Sony site, but I can't remember where I got it. It was even encoded in H.264 I believe. Very cool commercial, ans yes, it was real!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'll try answer as best I can:

1) The iTunes menu thing are Quicksilver radial menus. You can find a good tutorial for doing it here: http://www.ff00aa.com/en/space/2006/01/01/170945/

2) The iTunes now playing info is a program called SizzlingKeys (http://www.yellowmug.com/sk4it/)

3) Adium is the latest build of Metal Adium v. .89 (http://metal.adiumx.com)

4) The Finder icons are a combination of Minium (http://www.rad-e8.com) and some other random ones I've found over the net. If you have a specific icon request, I could probably find out.

5) Yes, it is Front Row running on a PowerBook. Front Row ITSELF is NOT illegal (as it is made freely available as a download on the Apple site), it is the enabling of it that is questionable.

I think that pretty much covers it. Thanks for the comments.

Any chance you could find out what set the music and movie icons in the finders side-bar are from?

yeah thanks a lot!!

but how i keep that transparent window thing up all the time? i only see how to do it for 15seconds

It should stay up unless you click on another window. The only thing I can think of is maybe that some other app is trying to steal window focus. Also, make sure not to hold the trigger (button combo) down, just hit it and leave it. Hope that helps a little.

I decided to change mine today, I'm not so sure if I like it.. It will probably be something different tomorrow.

Kurt, what icon set are you using for Library, Documents, Movies, etc? Or, where did you get them?
