how do they get an effect as seen in this photo, where the reflection of the top is shown on the bottom?

Oh I'm not sure I was wondering the same when I saw that image a few weeks ago. Possibly coverflow in finder, but that background is black, and then add text. I'm not sure, anyone know?
 
HOW can it be February 29th, and there's two pages of posts for the March desktops already?

which is really hard to do actually and out of 10 that i have like this, this is the only one that really works

Easy photoshop job (although you can also do it with apps like Motion 3)

Just take your picture, make a clone/duplicate, flip in upside down and align it under you source image. Then apply an image mask and add a gradient matte to that to give the 'fading away' effect. Make sure to put the gradient settings to high (.85 or so) to remove most of the image. Repeat this for each image you are positioning. He then positioned these pictures in a way which simulates cover flow.
