They studied 22 men in Buffalo, NY that smoked Marijuana 14 times per week for over 5 years. They were found to have decreased seminal fluid, decrease sperm, a decrease swimming ability. The result is a decrease in fertility. They were tested against 59 fertile men that were able to cause pregancy.

besides that, for me, it decreased sex drive, and for the drive for me to do homework, chores, or pay bills...so i had no real use for it
but i do think pot can be helpful in medical situations for glaucoma and chemotherapy
while i drink moderately, i also find that alcohol can reduce sex drive, and the drive to get things done
both pot and marijuana basically make me lazy so i don't smoke pot and i feel no need to drink to get smashed (i remember reading about how getting smashed was a tradition for some - binge drinking - at west point and i found that extremely disturbing, to say the least)
...but i will admit that pot gives me extreme hunger/munchies and i could eat anything and if i, or someone else, was medically too thin, i think for some it can help people gain necessary weight...i also think of anorexic people and people living with AIDS
i don't think pot should be a political issue but i believe there are definitely good and bad uses for it as well as for cocaine (used in dentistry), mdma and valium/clonazepam, and prozac (used in psychiatry) and other drugs
what alarmed me a lot is that there are teens experimenting with legal, prescription psychiatric medications and while adding alcohol, teenage "boldness", and medical unknowns of mixing different drugs and alcohol in various amounts, is troubling
i suffered from chest pains brought on by anxiety attacks and during a change in medication from paxil to prozac, i suffered a bad "discontinuation", withdrawal-type episode and i would hate to see partying teens go through that, and have that happen while they were behind the wheel
i believe psychiatric drugs taken recreationally by young kids is actually more dangerous than alcohol, pot, acid, cocaine, or heroin...but that is a different issue and thread...and i know wdlove (a nurse) can probably back up some horror stories of extreme abuse of legal, prescription drugs
in the end, it's not about an all or nothing approach to medications, but good old common sense
