Is there any quick way to mark emails as read so they will not show up on notifications or badges without actually opening each one? This was an option on WebOS. I assume no apps would have access to the email client, but I'm not sure.

You can click edit, then tap each one that needs "Marked as read", but if you're like me and have push off and fetch set to manual, its really time consuming if you don't open the mail app for days. I could have swore there used to be a "Mark All Read" option...

This is one of the frustrating things about apple. It's like they are so stubborn and hard headed that they refuse to add simple things like "mark as read" and (gasp) a delete key (not backspace). This is 2011, we should have a quick mark as read option.

I've been looking for this option as well, but I haven't found it. In the meantime, I just select all unread and move them to a folder outside of the inbox to get rid of the badges.
