Yes, it's still within the 1 year warranty and I so have AppleCare+.

blows my mind how people can have horribly bulky cases, poorly installed screen protectors, etc. that cause a disruption to the usability and/or intended design of the phone but GOD FORBID THERE BE A SMALL BLACK DOT SOMEWHERE!!!

This thread and this issue are a joke. I'd be far more concerned with the horribly installed screen protector and bubbles that are FAR WORSE than some little tiny dot that can hardly be seen without a microscope.
