It looks like a streak, and no matter how much water and cloth I put to it, I can't get it off. I think it's underneath the screen.
Could be a streak in the oleophobic coating too.
Leave it or call Apple?
Call them, get it replaced at the genius bar. That's what I would do at least.
There is no stock at the Apple stores - not even for replacements. They will want you to send it in and wait for a replacement.
Then I would wait a month or two, and then get it replaced

Apple would have seeded the warranty replacements before they shipped any sales. Should take no more than a week or two before you get your replacement. OR you buy applecare and they ship you your replacement first.
Similar problem here. Go to an Apple Store and they will change it free of charge as it's brand new... It will take 1/2 weeks to have it back, but I wouldn't keep it like thatLeave it or call Apple?
Lucky you then lolUhm...well water couldn't clear it. But glass cleaner did. Oops lol

Mine was a proper scratch/mark
Problem Solved! lol

I've been quoted 3 weeks for my replacement.

Apple (and any other company dealing with screens that I know of) advice against using any kind of cleaning products on their screens, watch included, so you probably should leave that detail out when you take it back to Apple.
Problem that gets better over time?
I doubt it. The oleophobic coating may eventually wear off, but with the amount you spent on it - it should be perfect.
Just a PSA, I would not use glass cleaner on that screen on a regular basis, it isn't good for the coatings.
only used it once to see if I could get the mark off. if it is the coating thats causing the problem, then surely removing it would be beneficial in my case lol
