ISO-3601, a week is Monday to Sunday, not Sunday to Saturday

…any timeline when customers start returning their preordered new gadgets just because they can 😝
You will always have the ones who order whatever is quickest and then do an exchange for what they really wanted but was backordered until the new year. That will most likely start shortly after preorders

I'll enjoy watching, but nothing for me this year. 13PM still going strong, and everything looks incremental. Pocketbook can take a rest. ;). Last year was painful.
Same. Except, I’m on an 11. But I love watching the events and always make time for them like I used to make time for movies on TV before streaming services xD

Sure a lot of speculation being regurgitated as fact in this article.

Translation: If you’ve been holding out with iOS 14, September 6th is the last day you can update to iOS 15 before they force iOS 16 beta on you as your only upgrade path for the next 6 months.
(Apple will stop signing iOS 15 shortly there after.)

Now that Apple has officially announced it will hold a special in-person event on September 7, widely expected to be for the iPhone 14 and the brand new Apple Watch Series 8, we can begin to map out all the important dates for Apple customers for September.

The Event Itself

The event, which is expected to be a hybrid between a digital and in-person event, will take place on September 7 at 10 AM PT. The event, which will run for around two hours, will include the announcement of the iPhone 14, the standard Apple Watch Series 8, a new Apple Watch SE, and a new Apple Watch "Pro." Apple may also announce other products during the event, including the second-generation AirPods Pro.

iPhone 14 Pre-Orders

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman was the first to report Apple was planning an event for September 7 earlier this month. In that same report accurately reporting the event date, Gurman also said the iPhone 14 would go on sale on September 16.

With a release on Friday, September 16, and pre-orders typically happening a week before launch, customers can expect to be able to pre-order the new iPhones on Friday, September 9. Due to possible supply constraints, pre-order and launch dates for the Apple Watch Series 8 remain unknown, so we'll have to wait and find out.

iOS 16 Launch

ios-16-lock-screen-feature.jpg

iOS 16 was previewed during Apple's WWDC in June of this year with major new features, including a completely redesigned Lock Screen, the ability to unsend and edit messages in iMessages, and so much more. iOS 16 has been in testing over the summer, and the new iPhone 14 will ship with the new iOS version pre-installed.

Like in previous years, Apple will release iOS 16 to the general public before the new iPhones begin shipping, which means we could see iOS 16 launch between Monday, September 12, and Wednesday, September 14. Apple will confirm iOS 16 and watchOS 9's release date during the event in two weeks. macOS Ventura and iPadOS 16 will be released later in October.

iPhone 14 Arrives to Customers

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who accurately reported an event on September 7, the iPhone 14 will be available to customers on Friday, September 16. Learn more about what we're expecting for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro with our roundups.

Back to School Promotion Ends

Towards the end of the month, on September 26, Apple's annual back-to-school promotion will come to a close. The promotion, which started in late June, gives students a free Apple gift card with certain purchases.

Not gonna lie I would love an option to make the calendar look that dark with the colors

ISO-3601, a week is Monday to Sunday, not Sunday to Saturday
Erm, you're seriously claiming that one single ISO date standard is the one and only date standard to rule them all?! And everyone, in every country, language, and culture, regardless of if they even follow the Gregorian Calendar, should follow it without question? You've never heard of internationalization?

Presuming you meant 8601, not 3601, it's a very useful standard, but..... are you going to correct every single occurrence of a date or time that doesn't adhere to it?

This is the event I've been waiting for since the last event, which was the event I was waiting for since the event before that... but I'm not optimistic about them updating their Mac line here, so I'll probably go back to waiting.

Interested to find out how the “hybrid” approach will work — expecting this to be different than WWDC. Will there be any live component of the event? What if the pre-recorded portion ends with “one more thing…”, and then Tim comes out to present something unexpected to the live audience? That would be FAR OUT!

Hoping for a thinner, lighter 12.9 iPad Pro with narrower bezels, and a MagSafe Magic Keyboard with dedicated volume, screen, and keyboard brightness buttons.

I can then buy them in two years or so, when all the kinks and bugs are worked out (and I can amortize the cost of my current iPadPro a bit more).

I'm over getting excited about Apple products, but I broke my phone recently and am very much looking forward to ditching the emergency iPhone 6 I'm currently using ASAP.

I plan on upgrading my Apple Watch 4 to the new one. I'll most likely hang on to my 12 Pro Max unless verizon runs a deal like a free watch when you buy a new phone.

I have an iPhone 7 which has served me well apart from the fact Touch ID is a pain for me with my rough fingertips preventing consistent working of Touch ID. I felt I would hang onto it for another version or two. Then I got a four pack of Apple AirTags and found out the tracking was less than good so I need to upgrade to a newer phone. I won’t watch the announcement live as here in Oz that means getting up at 3am. If you saw me, you would realise I need all the beauty sleep I can get!😂 I will definitely be ordering the minute preorders open. That will most likely be at 10pm Oz time which is almost human. Ordering a 14Pro with 512GB of memory. Colour? Not sure. Gold, White or maybe purple. I had hoped the blue colour of the iPhone 13Pro would be continued but that looks to be not the case. I won’t see the colour anyway as I will put it in a Quadlock case to use it on my bicycle rides. Looking forward to a new phone anyway.
