Marking mail Mail/Gmail

Hey guys
I've changed my settings from POP to IMAP (how I didn't notice I was on Imap for so long I will never know!) but is there a way to mark mail in 'Mail' and have it marked in Gmail automatically?
It seems Gmail uses stars and Mail uses flags....
