Hello all!
I have an ipad pro and pencil that has just arrived, and I want to get some advice about pdfs. I often receive pdfs files that I would like to be able to annotated with the pencil, and then send back. Mostly the pdfs are either emailed to me, or uploaded to a site like Moodle.

What I want to do is to open the pdf, make a bunch of comments on it using the pencil, and email it back to the sender (or upload it to a site). How do I do this?!

Thanks!

The stock mail app lets you annotate on pdf attachments and email them back to the sender. Tap on markup option when viewing the document.

I've used PDF Expert for years to highlight and make notes on PDFs.

However, I use Notability if I'm "creating" documents. For instance, I have a PDF template of a standard piece of notebook paper that I would make solutions for math problems for students. I found PDF Expert a bit finicky for this, whereas notability worked flawlessly.

Marking up completed PDF documents? PDF Expert
Created a document from a PDF? Notability.

Goodreader is great.
No. I do have used Goodreader for years. The issue is that it has not been updated in quite a while, and in particular (as the OP requests), it has not been updated for the Apple Pencil.

Has PDF Expert been updated for the Apple Pencil? Perhaps I should move over to that.
[doublepost=1511296079][/doublepost]I just checked it. Goodreader was last updated 1y ago. PDF Expert was updated 1d ago.

Try Liquid Text. It costs though, but imo it’s worth every penny.

I bought Liquid Text as well as PDF Expert. Liquid Text is really cool for side by side not taking. I use it for making my own notes from research projects. I still use PDF Expert as my go to for annotating and storing my students and personal projects. Both have been worth the $ to me.

Goodreader for iPad costs 4.99 GBP and you can markup PDF too with Apple Pencil . PDF Expert also very good but I prefer a stylus app supporting Apple Pencil like GoodNotes or Notability, so fluid for marking up, and can then export as PDF too.

Just a heads up PDF Expert is having a sale, so your timing couldn't be better. I use it often to edit and annotate both on my iPad and MacBook.

No, it does not support Apple Pencil. It treats Apple Pencil like any other stylus, sure, but no palm rejection etc. they did not write code specific to the Apple Pencil

PDF Expert supports the Apple Pencil too, AFAIK

It costs 7$ in my country, dammit. Looks really good though, does it support 12.9?
Yes it does
You can also save your PDFs in the program, has a folder structure too

I scan many documents into PDF using the camera, sign them with Apple pencil and mail them. Very practical!

Nice. Is it worth the 7 bucks or should I invest in the 16$ Black Friday bundle with pdf experts, calendars 5, scanner Pro, printer Pro? I have no i idea what they are for though. I’ve heard of calendars 5 but unsure of how well it is since everyone uses fantastical 2.

The bundle costs only $7 because of Black Friday 50% off sale (expires in 72 hours). I don’t know about calendars app, but the other apps are excellent: Scanner Pro is an awesome app, PDF Expert is one of the best pdf annotation app, and Printer Pro lets you print almost anything and with options the standard print menu doesn’t provide.

What the hell... Ok I hate Europe. So, there's no Black Friday for us Europeans despite it says it in the description. Those jerks haven't changed the pricing at all.

I've been using the standard Adobe Acrobat app. After I markup documents, I can mail documents, save them and email them, etc. The app is free.
