I've watched 2 episodes, the story has been developing slowly, but I'm liking it, the atmosphere and characters. Looks like **** will be hitting the fan soon. ;)

Someone's hand in the process of breaking. :)

It's kind of slow here and there but it's quite good, as basically the rest of the Netflix Marvel series.

I've watched two episodes and can't get past the below average acting. Marvel tv shows or movies all seem to suffer the same problem. And how many of them start with a landlady waiting on overdue rent? I won't be watching the rest of it.

I binge watched it and finished over the weekend. I thought it was pretty good. I loved the small references to Daredevil (when Claire kept saying she knew some really good lawyers from Hell's Kitchen) and returning characters (Claire, Turk) playing small roles from other series in the same franchise. There were also some references to Jessica Jones. I should have watched Jessica Jones before starting Luke Cage, since that's where you first learn about Luke Cage and Reva Connors, but hindsight is 20/20.

I didn't like the acting of the guy that played Cottonmouth (Remy Danton if you watch House of Cards!) - every time he tried to pull off his villainous laugh it just seemed forced, awkward, and out of place, but other than that I didn't have a problem with any of the other acting.

I also didn't like the fact that Luke Cage was "bulletproof" to any bullet except for Judas bullets...I was hoping his enemies would have to come up with another (more creative) way of trying to hurt him (i.e. drowning, poison, something else like Mariah suggested to Cornell)

Sorry to hear that.

So far I'm fine with the acting. Cotton mouth does an evil laugh? ;) And this happens after Jessica Jones? If so, I don't think it will adversely effect watching JJ second. :)

The series was 3 episodes too long. Good stuff overall, however.

If I had to rate them
Jessica Jones
Daredevil Season 2
Luke Cage
Daredevil Season 1

I loved Cottonmouth Mr. Stokes! Thought the actor really good too - most of the actors were delivering top notch. A bit over the top / cheesy but in a good sense (comic related, not taking themselves too serious) and not in a tacky Dick Tracy way.

Since they referenced basically all of the glorious hiphop tracks I grew up with, blaxploitation flics and the slower pace and (Except for Shades) well fleshed out characters made for a welcome change - this show takes the top spot for me.

Luke Cage
Daredevil S1+2 (both being equally imo, S2 has the Punisher which is 10/10 but S1 felt more coherent overall as S2 has a serious break)
...
Jessica Jones

And it goes on!!

I'd place DDS1 before Season 2, but liked both of them and I'd rate both JJ and DDS1 at the top, both had interesting villians. I'll give a LC opinion after watching the entire season. :)

Ten episodes in, it's on the corny side. I dislike Diamondback, he's like a cartoon character. ;) The music is terrible. I'll finish Season 1, no commitment beyond that. Luke Cage was better in Jessica Jones.

I thought that about diamondback too, they tried to flesh him out as much as possible, but he is based on a character that is just too cartoonish. There are a few others like him (The Vision in Avengers being another IMO) which they should have left out of the marvel TV series/movies.

But overall I really enjoyed the series, probably more than Jessica Jones (although DD is my favourite). Looking forward to the next one.

Season 1 complete. The showdown was weak between Luke and Diamond, but it's not over, I'll probably watch season 2. :)

Chronologically this story definitely happens after Marvel Dare Devil due to the common character and references, and I'm not sure but I would assume this happens before Marvel Jessica Jones. What might put doubt on this theory is that per this show, LC is well known in Harlem and in JJ he seemed to be incognito more or less.

Idid not get the Judas bullets. LC is one of a kind, made by accident. How did they know to make a bullet that LC was vulnerable to, or that he even existed? If you recall he just vanished from Seagate prison after the transformatio.

And I guess we are just supposed to accept that Diamondback had this special technology, his suit with the power hands.

Edit:typo

I am digging it so far. I have one episode left. So far I am digging the music and the acting. Yes it is corny in some spots but that really doesn't bother me given the subject matter.

Agreed. To be honest: I loved it! :D

It has so many well done angles and references, even the corny stuff seemed to be made on purpose imo. As for diamond back - yes he is a cut-board villain straight up comically, but I actually dug that. Liked the actor.

I believe it's after what happens in Jessica Jones as that is how Luke had already met Claire before (similar to how Jessica Jones happens after Daredevil as I recall as Claire already has been exposed to people with abilities because of her relationship with Daredevil).

I don't think they exactly knew whether it was working or not nor that they were made exclusively for him - only that it's extremely powerful and made out of alien matter.

It was established in the first episode that diamondback has a very good link to Hammer industries (weapon manufacturer) - that's where he got the toys from.

In regards to spoiler comment, ok I can buy that. I remember Hammer Indistries from Ironman 2 I think. :)

I remember Claire meeting DD, but I don't remember her in JJ. Looked it up and it says she (Claire) was in one episode of JJ but I don't remember the context. For Luke in JJ, for having his own bar seemed like he had no law troubles and he was not well known so then the question becomes when did his brother set him up for murder? So,like you said maybe after JJ.

It was the episode where Luke was shot and was knocked out and Jessica had Claire take care of him. It's basically what was referenced in Luke Cage when he ran into Claire at the diner.
