Mary Tyler Moore really did turn the world on with her smile — and her incandescent acting skills.

The Brooklyn-born actress, one of the nation’s most beloved stars after her Emmy-winning turns as housewife Laura Petrie and single career woman Mary Richards, died Wednesday.

She just turned 80 this past Dec. 29.

RIP. Know who she is, but never watched anything she was in when I was younger. If I'm being honest here, I thought she was known for Cheers, but according to IMDB's page for her, I'm wrong.

Ironically, I just watched "Ordinary People" yesterday which was shot in my home town of Lake Forest, Illinois. She was wonderful in the movie.

Also where I went through high school.

RIP..... Saw the report that friends and family were being summoned to her location to say their goodbyes. Very sad.....
