So, I was at my first day at University and I looked in finder and there were around 37 shared computers in Finder, 20 of which were Macs. As I was looking through all the computers, the list suddenly refreshed and all the PCs were gone from the list. What happened? Is it a Macbook Pro or an OS X problem? Put my anxiety to rest please lol.

Anyone know what happened? I just don't like it when threads go unanswered especially when other people are searching for the same question, find this thread, and see it without answers :)

those Macs and PCs probably had file sharing turned on. they might have disappeared because of a number of reasons: wifi range, they went to sleep, they lost internet connection.
