Maybe wait until 10.7.1 or 10.7.2? They will address the fix to the issue if it's anything major.

I have got the click to flash plugin so I don't think it is Flash.

I almost never use it if I can help it anyway, mine certainly seems to be scrolling issues within Safari that kill the battery.

I can't get click to flash plug-in to work with Lion.

And Lion has destroyed my battery life too. About three hours is all I can squeeze out of it now with brightness set to high. I could easily get over 6 hours with SL :-S

I've noticed the exact same thing. During scrolling cpu % goes very high, sometimes above 50%. Not sure if under Snow Leopard was the same thing though, but i don't think.

Yep as others, I'm using the click to Flash plugin in google chrome, so its definitely not flash, and equally not safari to blame.

Ill get onto it now and email apple/steve

Right, resetting the SMC has increased the battery life significantly, adding 1-2 hours, but still not as good as on SL. definitely worth a try if youre suffering too

What settings are you on for smc on your computer? i also just got it and I want to see if it can help.

where do i find out the settings? All I did was follow the instructions on th apple site to reset it, didnt even know you could view the settings. If you tell me how/link me on instructions ill post my results

hmm interesting apart from a weird terminal bug i have made a thread about Lion has been running fine for me.

MacBook Air

For what its worth, I see this on my 11 inch macbook Air as well too. I have the first generation 11inch air.

When its been sitting on the AC for a few hours and I unplug it , it says about 9 hours of battery life. But very very shortly after that it changes and drops to less than 3 hours.

I'm gonna give apple a call tomorrow and at least put it on the radar from one more person.

I'm getting less battery life, but definitely not as bad as you guys. I'm still getting 5.5 hours of battery per charge. Listening to iTunes, surfing the web, and creating documents in Microsoft Word

Strange with the battery issue. I just received a MBP w SL about 3 weeks ago and the fan ran all of the time and the bottom got so hot I couldnt keep it on my lap. I actually have an appointment with the Genius bar tomorrow to discuss. But then I did the usual software upgrade, not Lion, and all of sudden the MBP works like my previous MBP, great battery life, no fan no heat.

I'm guessing they are working out some issues and the upcoming software updates will address it.

Lion has been really good for me. I got my new Macbook Pro the other day, and didn't install any updates, just downloaded Lion and made a DVD and USB version incase I have to do a clean install in the future, and installed. And haven't noticed anything wrong with my computer. I can use the internet, and everything and it sits at around 42C, and runs very fast, and efficient. The only thing that I will note is that I have my Macbook Pro forced to use Intel Graphics only, as I only put the big card on for photoshop, and other things like that, regardless tho, I don't get huge heat like everyone else. good luck tho.

I'm beginning more and more to think that the issue is from the computer running on the discrete GPU even though gfxcardstatus says I'm on the integrated GPU. My battery life is pretty much in line with what it was on SL while running on discrete GPU.

Did you update gfxcardstatus? 2.1 is more accurate with showing what GPU you are using.

I posted above that a SMC reset helped out a bit, seems it was just a temporary fix, im at 75% with just under 2:30 left. All I have open is chrome, itunes and soundcloud.

what a joke

SMC reset maybe helped a little, but not nearly enough. Seems to be getting closer to 7 hours though... ><

I can't say I've experienced anything unusual w/ battery performance on my '11 13" MBP. I'm getting around 6 hrs which is pretty much what I got before Lion. I have yet to install on my 15" though.

hmm... now mine's up to estimating 8:35 on 97% of the battery... maybe battery life did improve. who knows. i won't till i use this for a day.

I have gfx 2.1 installed, and I do have Time Machine on

I have noticed that mds and mdworker run a lot more under Lion than they have under SL. It seems that my battery life and kernel panics seem timed to Time Machine, specifically the backing up over network part.
