On the latest public beta and there is a massive audio bug when trying to quick view any files containing audio. Audio just comes out in a stuttering useless sound. Anyone else experience this? When I open the file completely the files are fine. I use quick look pretty often so this is very unfortunate.

just checked, and seems ok here. perhaps a reboot? or resetting nvram? or (& this is just a guess), delete the quicklook preferences files? (in your home library>preferences).

anyone else experiencing this? or have a suggestion?

PRAM reset didn't work. Quicklook preferences...not sure what I'm doing? I'm in the preferences folder what is safe to delete (terrifying) ?

if others are experiencing it, the problem is deeper than a quirk with the OP's mac; perhaps someone with the issue can sort it out (& report back here). otherwise... next beta? good luck (anyone with the issue).

interesting. am not having problems with audio files, but i noticed today that quicktime .mov files are not previewing (just getting the spinning icon). so, seems quicklook needs some fixing...

Audio files are no problem, went through a whole folder of breakbeats just now.
Dont have any mov files, but Im watching Godzilla King Of The Monsters using quick look just fine right now. I ripped my blu-ray to whatever the default mp4 settings are in Handbrake for my Plex library and those all seem to work fine here.

oops. i tried rebooting, and now, quicklook is 'slowlook'; in column view, and with the space bar, it's takes about 7-8 seconds and then i am getting video & images, but now... MY audio files are also glitching (damn! i probably should NOT have rebooted). so yes, quicklook needs some work.

it's fixed in the newest beta; are you up-to-date?

Ah, thanks. Oddly enough, I just posted this in another thread:

Hi all,

I've installed the last dew PBs of Big Sur. However, this most recent one (Beta 9 11.0), when I click Update Now and Agree, it gives the Your Computer Will Restart in...Countdown, and once it's about to Restart, it then seems to get "stuck". I have to eventually Power Down the MacBook Pro and then turn it back on. And no install of the recent Beta occurs.

Any recommendations how to remedy this? I can't seem to REMOVE the Beta file, and RE-download it. It happens every time I try to install it. Not sure how to proceed.

Thanks for any help!

you could try booting in safe mode, and then installing from there. or create a temp admin account on your mac, try installing from that. but not sure... in which case, find (or start) a thread about this, this one's the wrong place for your issue. good luck!

I started getting stuttering and crackly audio using Chrome (latest) watching Youtube on the latest beta on 2019 MBP 15".

Same crackly audio in iMovie.

Tested some songs in VLC, no issue. Went back to Chrome & iMovie & no more issue.
