This is a really big issue that I am plagued by using all my Macs running Snow Leopard. I googled it but the only mention of it that I came across is in the links below.

Basically, uploading files is broken for many website uploaders, most notably YouTube, but I have come across the same problem on 2 other sites as well. The file will start to upload but never completes - both in Safari and Firefox. The problem is still present in 10.6.1.

As stated in the Apple Discussions thread below, booting into Windows seems to be the only way to upload with these sites. I wanted to know who else is experiencing this issue and see if the MacRumors community has any solutions. Thanks all.

Think it's because Google Gears is known to be incompatible with Snow Leopard, and as far as I know, they haven't released an updated version yet.

I'd uninstalled Gears after upgrading to SL when I heard it was incompatible, and I can confirm that uploading works OK for me. Tried just now, in fact.

Note: without Gears installed, Single Video uploading will work but not Multi-Video uploading because the latter requires Gears to function.

If you'd like to try an unofficial version of Gears that reportedly works with Snow Leopard, try this:

(I haven't installed it so I don't know how well it works.)
