I have Master Of Orion 2 with latest patch. It works under Classic fine... in fullscreen. Because of resolution (640X480) game is very small. Is there any chance to run this in window instead of fullscreen ?

If memory serves, when I was still playing MOO2 under X, I'd go in and change the base resolution on my screen, then go run it as normal. When done, change it back.

Does it still crash when you invade a planet (or have one invaded)? That was always a problem when trying to run it in OSX.

...

Well... no crash so far. I though about changing resolutions, but game in window would be nicer. But i can't do this kind of stuff with Classic i supose?...

I think the fix for that was doing a "get info" on the app and increasing the memory allotment for the program.

I spent a good hour scouring forums for that fix. I still occasionally play it with my brother. If only Master of Orion 3 didn't suck so much.:(
Yeah. MoO3 was certainly the worst purchase I ever made on the game front. I really tried to get into it, but there's just not enough there to keep you interested. Shame. I'm hoping that FreeOrion comes some way towards being the game MoO3 should have been.

FreeOrion

FreeOrion is not quite user-friendly game. You need experience with terminal, SDL libraries, etc., etc. Nothing for me and with current speed of development 1.0 version will be available in 2020. So i hope that Galactic Civilizations 2 (under bootcamp of course) is great game ;)

MacBook Pro ETA: 24 days...

Moo2 in classic mode

I just purchased a Mac Pro and was told that it cannot run classic mode. Is there a way that I can run it on my macine. I am a new user to Mac. Thanks to anyone that can help.

The easiest way if you're in the USA is to install Windows in Fusion or Parallels, then run the PC version of MoO2. It's available as a download for something like $10 from the Atari website.

Unfortunately British IP addresses are blocked :(

If that's not available you can install an OS9 emulator, but that's seriously slow. SheepShaver or Basilisk are options that would work.
