MasterCard Teams Up With Gwen Stefani to Promote Apple Pay and 'Priceless Surprises'

Was in Bestbuy yesterday, picking up a monitor adapter that I needed. Tried to use Apple Pay with their NFC reader, and it told me that the system was not enabled. I asked the clerk what was going on, and he said that it was because they and Walmart were in the MCX consortium.

I smiled at him and told him he could keep the adapter, then walked out. Bought it from Amazon for less than half the price. It'll be here Wednesday.
 
awesome after Beats acquisition this is another way to get more people with no talent aboard!

Couldn't they get someone or something with a little more relevance, like Foghat??

Terrible. Typical CC advertising.

I haven't really heard much of the new stuff, but I thought she had a decent sound back in the day with No Doubt. Looks like she's trying to re-brand a bit to compete with the likes of St. Vincent etc. Not that I really know. Just a judgement call on a 15 second ad.

Or you could've just pulled out your cc, had them price match and walked out with it that day, but... Way to show 'em. :rolleyes:

You're right. I did show them. I showed them that they lost a customer. And they've lost him until they reverse course on this.

No skin off my teeth, because they pretty much suck, anyway. They've essentially become my "Radio Shack" for the last 10-12 years: A place where I go to get a convenience item, such as a relatively cheap video adapter. But I would never even consider shopping there regularly, especially for big ticket items.

The clerk was probably laughing it up for hours over that one... "some dude got all angry at me because I don't support his pay apple thing. what a dork."

No.. you didn't win. You looked like a dork.
 
she is so hot!! hard to believe she's in her mid 40's. she looks better now than she did back in the early no doubt days!!! i wanna meet her more than george brett. even though he's one of my favorite baseball players as a kid.

I like this ad. I think it's funny, and she's also adorable. One of the most humble and grounded artists out there!
