concrete. I have had two iPTs over 3 years, and have never had a screen protector or a scratch on the screen of either. A hard case (don't bother with the silicone nonsense, it doesn't protect crap) is a good idea though, as it prevents the screen from hitting a hard surface, should you drop it. That's save me from a couple of busted screens.
