twistedlegato macrumors 65816 Oct 22, 2006 #4 umm! x= -|x|-38 the | | means find the absolute value, and x is in the center so fin the absolute value of x but since it has a negitive sighn out of the absolute value symbol. Maybe that would help him! Good luck! Almost have the answere!

MBHockey macrumors 601 Oct 22, 2006 #5 I think it's just: -x - 38 = x so, x = -19 Which makes sense. -19 is 38 less than its opposite, +19.
