I have a few questions regarding getting matlab for mac...

What was your experiencing using the new matlab for mac?

What much did you pay it for?

Is pretty good or and necessary for you education (I know depending on the school, but I am not realy want to shell out money)

It should be less than $100. It works fine, but using it on the campus machines may be enough, it really depends on the course.

In my experience, it has only been useful if you are going to use it all the time. Otherwise, just use the versions at your school.

    Will octave work for you?

For my matlab needs in school, I used octave. It is a matlab clone that is free and works very well. You can find OS X and windows binaries at http://octave.sourceforge.net/
