Hi. I have been on this thread for a while now, back and forth on what monitor to buy. This is a pic of my setup, despite my wishes for work use I 'really' do not think a widescreen will work for me, I like to use my iPad during the day and a widescreen will push it out of my view. So that really only leaves me with the 32" option.

But do I go glossy or matte? My current monitor is matte and my eyes find it comfortable. I may setup my MacBook on my riser when I can and use it through the day to get a feel what a glossy screen would be like here. I have my TV on the other wall and the window is behind it, it is an OLED and I can barely see it in the day due to reflections. So with a screen as big as 32" will I be suffering with reflections if I go glossy? As much as I would like glossy, I will be using the screen all day for work reading text etc so comfort is more important I guess. I will be changing my laptop for a Studio and think I will add some speakers on stands later too.

I currently have a 32 inch glossy and a 32 inch matte side by side. Personally I prefer the glossy but a good quality matte finish is still pretty good. It depends on the manufacturer for me. Dell do a good matte finish, but LG does not. At least that's my experience with those two brands.

I've had an iMac 27" retina glossy and now have the Kuycon G32P, as you know. I also have a 27" matt screen from Benq PS2720U.

With both glossy screens when the content is on, you don't notice it.
Maybe you get used to it too, but first impression on the Kuycon it was reflective.... until it came on and I started using it. This is in a loft room with a big window directly to the side.

Move your OLED to where your monitor would be and see what that is like, if possible?

A lot of this "reflection" issue has to do with the brightness of the display. The brighter the display, the less reflection you see when sunlight in the room hits the screen.

With the exception of the Apple displays, and a very select few others, the brightness amount isn't enough to overcome reflections - glossy or matte, it doesn't matter.

I also agree with @StevenJobsJr above, LG's matte finish is horrible. It's been a long time since I owned a Dell display, but I do recall them being very good.

Thanks guys for the replies, very much appreciated. I removed my monitor off my desk and set up my MacBook Pro raised up in its pace last night after work, and so far it is fine to use. It is a lot brighter so my eyes would need to get used to is, but as it is glossy it is clearer too as expected. The sun is out this morning, surprisingly, and I have no glare on the screen. So with Apple at least its glossy screens are ok for me.
I am still whirling around in my head what to do, I have to admit I did look at getting a second Huawei screen not too long ago to add to my existing one but can't get them new anymore in the UK. I love my monitor for its all metal design and its clever Touch Bar control scheme, so it only has one button. I will definitely be keeping it as a backup. I will wait to see what the new Studio Display is like, I may even try and set up two of them, one horizontal and one vertical. Move the iPad to the left hand side. My goal really was to increase my workspace screen wise, I did have a 4k BenQ mini LED 32" monitor but it had a dead pixel so sent it back, but when I used it I did think it wasn't that big of an improvement in space over my current 28". But equally I don't want to feel like I an enclosed in with screens.

Your set up will then be identical to mine 🙂

I love having the vertical

It will be a boon, but I really haven't decided as yet. I had my laptops on arms either side of my monitor and I felt a bit too enclosed, I like the openness of the current setup so may still stick with one monitor.
