i got a mbp last week from the apple store, i asked for a mbp matte screen but i'm not sure whether i got the matte one, is there a way to check whether this screen is a matte or glossy? i checked the box and receipt and there's nothing to indicate what it is, i didnt notice it until my friend asked me yesterday, it looks kinda glossy to me, though im very happy with it.

Get a lighter and hold the flame in front of the screen (DO NOT touch the screen or get near the screen). If you see the flame as clear in the screen as you do out of the lighter, you have a glossy finish. If the flame looks diffused, you have a matte finish.

It's not a definitive test but, a glossy MBP will say so on the box or any other documentation you have received from Apple. So if it just says 15 inch MacBook Pro it should be matte. Of course, I can easily see Apple shipping you the wrong one but that seems rare.
