Hey I'm gonna get the new MacBook Pro and I was wondering should I get glossy or matte? Which one is better?

They both perform the same.
It comes down to your preference.

I'm in the same boat. And if it helps.......both my daughters have MBPs. One has glossy, the other matte. Photos and movies/videos show up much nicer on the glossy screen, and the glare is not nearly as bad as you might expect. So, when the refresh comes, I'm going for glossy.

Depends, If you are crazy about the quality get the Matte, however, i feel that the Glossy has a better Image and the Laptop looks also better, the Matte one can be easily confused with Pre-unibody ones if you're not a MacBook Pro fan

Typing this from a glossy screen MBP

Everyone always talks about the crisper sharper images on the glossy.

If you get the matte chances are you'll get used to it and you won't notice any slight decrease in image sharpness because you won't have a glossy machine right next to it to compare to.

But I guarantee that you will notice the reflections if you happen to get yourself stuck in non-ideal lighting conditions (which is extremely non-intuitive by the way - I've been in a sunny room like my office and had no problems and been in other places that I thought would be fine only to be plagued by reflections)

Conclusion: get matte
