Recently a auto-update occurred from 10.9.3 to 10.9.4. The iMac had been running perfectly fine before this update. Now, its slower than ever, making it difficult to use with ease.

At first, I though it might of been a "virus" so I did a full scan using Kaspersky, but no threats found. So it could be due to this update.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Thank you.

Boot to recovery mode and use DU to repair permissions. Then boot to safe mode and it will clear out old crud just by booting.

Power down and then boot normally. Hopefully this will help. Some people who have had persistent problems have cleared them up by downloading the combo update and reinstalling from there.
