Maverick on mid 2011 MBA 11" (Lion)?

I've stuck with Lion so far with no complaints, and was wondering if upgrading to Maverick will be worthwhile. I didn't upgrade to ML since I was content with Lion and read lots about decreased battery life on ML. One thing I do miss is the Messages app that was taken away once the beta phase ended.. Will upgrading to Maverick actually help my current battery life? I wasn't able to find other posts about 2011 MBAs, especially still on Lion. Anyone have experience with this?

I had ML on a first-gen 11´ MBA (1.4 ghz, 2 gb ram, 64 gb, SL) and maverick is rocking good. 🙂
