I had to have my computer wiped clean and now I cannot get Drop Box to start-I also have a new ssd. The message says:

Couldn't start Dropbox
This usually because of a permissions error. Storing your home folder on a network share can also cause an error.

Iv'e contacted Dropbox several times and I haven't gotten any help. Any ideas from anyone?

Thanks!

I don't know what my home folder is! Yeah I know, I'm technically challenged!

Open Finder the hit shift-command-g (all three keys at once) then enter /Users in the box and hit return. Does it show the user account you made there?

So you just did a standard install and did not move you account or anything?

User Folder

When I go to my user folder what I see is this. See screen shot.

I tried that and it says command not found? It looks like there are spaces in the command. Do you agree?

Well I thought it was going to work. I'm getting a note that says "because of a permissions error. storing your home folder on a network share can also cause an error"

I am running my system through my apple airport utility. I've never had this problem before-Could it be something with the way my sharing preferences are set? Maybe they were changed when Apple reinstalled Mavericks?

What do you mean by this? Airport Utility is the app used to configure an Apple router.

Nothing, I just thought it might have to do with the "sharing" message I keep getting.

It may have worked! My drop box icon is lit up and is downloading...
