I just upgraded my 5,1 MacPro to Mavericks, and much to my surprise AirPlay appears enabled in my menu bar...

I currently have no way to test it, however it appears to be functional. Perhaps it is because I have a 7950 (similar to the new Mac Pro)???

Can anyone confirm if this really works?

    Thanks in advance,

I have Airplay in ML. I haven't tried it, but I assume it is audio only and no video.

I saw it on my 3.1 Mac Pro with 7950 as well.

I tried to link to my Apple TV 3, but the TV screen stayed black. Must admit haven't tried it extensively (i.e. troubleshooting), but I assume it won't work well.

    Quoting my own thread...

I tried a Nvidia GTX 680 video card, and when I did the AirPlay icon disappeared from my menu bar!

So the combination of AMD graphics and Mavericks is required. Since the new mac pro is using Xeon processors that do not have built in graphics for the h.264 support, I think that Apple may be supporting AirPlay with the AMD graphic cards of the new MacPro...

Anyone have a video card recognized as a D300, D500, or D700 that can try this out?
