Mavericks mail move rule - no notification?

Hey all, I've subscribed to google calendar alerts by email and have setup a rule in mac mail to move them from my inbox into a 'on my mac' mailbox called alerts. This works fine but I don't get a new mail notification (top right of screen) like I do with all my other emails. I have created a rule above the 'move' rule to 'send notification' but it's not working. Also tried 'send notification' below the 'move' rule. Any ideas? thanks 🙂
