Mavericks - Screen Resolution

After installing mavericks yesterday i tried to scale my resolution back to 1026 x 576. I need this resolution on my 26" screen cuz i use my mac mini from adistance and i would need binoculars to see the screen otherwise.
Now i am shocked to see that this resolution isnt available anymore🙁
Also the system feels buggy and rather unresponsive and clam xv pops up for no reason.
My mini is late 2012 and always used to run smoothly - I love it. This stinks!
Anyway to downgrade to mountainlion again?
Any solutions?

You can 'downgrade' to mountain lion by going back to your last ML backup on Time Machine prior to the upgrade.
