I need to upgrade my wife's 2011 Macbook Pro from Mavericks to High Sierra. I heard you can't log into the App store anymore to get High Sierra so I'm curious how I obtain it for her.

Hey just want to thank you again. I managed to get High Sierra onto my wife's computer. Going from Mavericks, increasing the ram and a larger SSD has given new life to my wife's 2011 machine. Should be able to get another 2 years out of it until High Sierra is no longer supported by Apple. I'll be blown away if I get a total of 9 years out of this computer!

How is the performance on the 2011 MBP? I have the same machine but still on Sierra
Quite good! Not getting the beach ball anymore. I think the ram increase helped too. My wife likes to use Safari, and with it no longer getting updates on Mavericks, she was having uses with some websites loading properly or even at all. Now everything seems to be working flawlessly. Also seems to be snappier! Hoping I can keep it going for another couple years!
