I do a lot of indoor cycling with Zwift. I know that all the reviews have said that the Max isn't a good workout headphone because they're big and heavy, but that seems to be because they reviews are assuming that you'll move around a lot. On a stationary bike I barely move my head at all, so them falling or flying off isn't really a concern.

But how about perspiration? Would they get really gross and hot? Anyone tried them while spinning, etc?

I do indoor cycling a lot too and I would never ever use my AirPods Max for that. Far too heavy, uncomfortable and big. Get some cheaper AirPods or Pros for workouts. They are excellent for that.

I actually really like using the Beats Solo Pro for working out. They are IPX rated and they are really awesome for me when working out and they stay in place perfectly. I have Airpods pro but stopped using them as they seem to cause some type of allergic reaction now and I can't use them.

I sweat heavily so I would think twice about using it for cycling/spinning. I plan to use mine for lifting though, and only during light sessions. For everything else, AirPods Pro are my beater pair.

If you don’t seat much, and you live in a cool/dry area, I’d give it a go and then inspect The unit after to truly know if it suits your parameters.

While I don’t have the Max, I would absolutely not use them for any kind of workout, even on a stationary bike. The are way too heavy for that and sweat will just ruin them. I would recommend Powerbeats Pro for working out.

I don't know how you can work out with the Max on without it falling off your head due to the weight. The sweat is only another issue.

I do a lot of indoor cycling. Would never user big over-ear headphones, too hot, cant even use on-ears.
Probably the pads on APM will be quite ugly with all sweating.

I don't understand people who wear headphones to workout and sweat on it from the headband to the ear cups. That's too hot and lots of bacteria growing. I would not use my APM for sweating because the ear cushions will just partially absorb the sweat.

That's what IP-rated AirPods Pro and the likes are built for. It's light and stays on.
