The other night I dusted off my trusty old D70 to play around and noticed I really need more CF capacity . Does anyone happen to know the largest card a D70 will recognize?

4 GB, but some have used 8 GB cards with success too, according to various search results.

Funny I just did this too. I've always meant to send it in to have the infrared mod done to it. It used to be less expensive, that'll show me not to wait. :p

But 4MB is best i could do, I tried my 8GB CF card and got some weird error.

Thanks so much for the info! 4GB would be much more than ample for me.

Hmm, last week I was using my D70 underwater with a 16GB SD card in a CF adapter. Probably safter with 4GB but it seems it isn't a hard limit.

4GB is a lot of pictures for a D70, so it's good to not go any larger.

Also 4GB is easy to just dump to a DVD-R for backup.

Yes it is - the 16GB SD I used last week showed that it would hold 1.3K images shooting RAW+JPEG. ;)
