About to make switch from PC to mac, getting used 2.33-2.5ghz dual core MBP and new i7 iMac. Question, can I install more than the recommend memory in the older MBP? 2gb is listed as the max, and searchs both on this forum and google are mixed (some yes and some no).

Thanks in advance

Which MBP model is it?

A good site to use as a guide is everymac. Look up your model and it will list the max supported RAM, officially and unofficially.
