I'm wondering what the maximum amount of memory an application can use in OSX. I've "heard" some people say its limited to 3.2gb per application running.

And is Leopard planning on increasing this amount per application?

Each process has a memory space of 4Gb (or it should do) unless it uses the special libraries Apple provide in Tiger that enable 64bit addressing. These are only available to command line processes, although a GUI can spawn a command line process to get access to all this RAM.

In Leopard you can have 64bit GUI processes allowing virtually unlimited RAM per process.
