Hello All,

I just picked up a dual 1.42GHz 7455B G4 processor that I'm looking to overclock and install in my FW800 MDD. What is the fastest stable speed you all think I can achieve? I've found a great guide (http://bitsandpieces.info/Multipliers.htm) that shows how to overclock the 7455B but it doesn't recommend a max stable speed. Thanks for the help everyone.

You can hit 1.5 GHz no problem. The next step up from that which I believe is 1.58 might require a voltage boost (which the guide you have also covers). You probably can't go any higher than that on stock cooling.

That's exactly what I needed to know. Thanks a lot.

I ended up overclocking to 1.58GHz and it's stable. I didn't even have to alter the voltage allotted to the processors. I've ran GeekBench to measure the speed increase and included a picture. This upgrade was well worth the money.

EDIT: Scratch that, it crashed. I had to slow the clock down to 1.5GHz.
