MAX RAM Speeds in MBP

I am curious if anybody has attempted to go beyond the 1866mhz speed limitation on their 2012 MBP's. I know that 1866mhz works despite the claims "1600mhz is the max." I found this article here that utilizes a higher speed, but I am wondering if it would work in a MBP. This is not a debate over "you wouldn't notice any difference anyways," "too expensive," etc. etc. I am just curious if anybody has had EXPERIENCE with this. Thank you.
