I have a late 2006 MacBook running at 2.0 GHz. Apple says its maximum RAM is 2.0GB, but I've read that it's actually 3GB (some sources say 3.0, others 3.2, and others 3.3). I have 2x1GB sticks in now, and I was wondering if the MacBook can take advantage of paired sticks if it can't recognize any RAM past 3GB. For example, since buying two sticks of 2GB isn't that much more expensive than buying a single stick, would I get the benefits of paired memory by having 4GB in my MacBook, or does the MacBook not differentiate between 2x2GB and 1x2GB+1x1GB? If you happen to know a bit about memory limitations on the late 2006 MacBook model and RAM pairing, let me know your thoughts!
