For those of you with an 11 Max (or XS Max), how do you feel about the size? Too bulky in the hand/pocket, or worth the trade off? How do you deal with the increased difficulty of one-handed use?

Please tell me your experiences. :)

Gorgeous phone and screen, but coming from an iPhone X that weighs 174g it feels a bit too large and heavy. I’m definitely in the minority here, but I’ve hated how all iPhones have gotten thicker since reaching 6.9mm thinness with the iPhone 6. Definite advantage with battery size/life increasing, but I don’t like the thickness and weight myself.

Anyway, when using the Max for a 4-5 day stretch, it definitely is nice. Pocketable and usable with one hand even which really worried me at first. However, the X feels fantastic for one handed use, though kind of nuts how small it feels after using the Max.

Right now I think I’m going to switch to the 11 Pro (not Max). But both are excellent options.

I hate big phones with a passion. I tried the 6+ for 3 days when it came out. Returned it for the regular size 6. My iPhones have always been small. Then I got the X on release day. Then I got the XS Max which is just a tad higher over X. I got the Pro Max. Went big again and don’t see myself downgrading in size anymore. I’m used to big size iPhones. Those who know me it was a shocker for me to keep a big iPhone but when with no bottom and small bezels the extra screen size is a plus for me. The 6+ with those ugly big bezels is what made it huge and no good for me.

I've been running large phones for years now, no issues with pockets when I buy correctly sized pants. The weight of the Pro Max is a non-issue. I'm particularly happy with the larger bezels the Pro Max has over the Note 9 it replaced.

I went from the X to the 11 Pro Max and I got it knowing I probably wouldn’t carry it much in my pocket and don’t carry it with me much at work. I was pleasantly surprised though. With how well it’s tu ally fits in my jean pockets. I wear average fit jeans so not baggy and definitely not skinny jeans But I don’t mind the fit with a leather case in my pocket at all. I firmly believe it was the right choice for me and don’t plan to got to the smaller size.

This whole weight issues means nothing to me. Yes Pro Max heavier than XS Max but people forget some cases heavier than others. My Pro Max feels lighter to me because I put a skin like case on it versus the Incipio I had on my XS Max.

I have the 11 Pro Max and absolutely love it. I had a X prior and before that a 7+. The smaller size phone is a bit easier to carry around but I much prefer a larger screen. My reasons for that are obviously there is more to fit on the screen but also its just easier on my eyes. Reading, watching videos, etc. are great. As far as weight I dont notice it.

I usually carry a small bag for work or around town and I drop my 11 PM in it sometimes. But even in my pocket its not a big deal. Sure I can feel its there but its not a problem for me.

I really love the size. It's great for photography, games, instagram, etc. I don't use it one-handed, but that hasn't been a problem.

I actually prefer the size in length and width of the 6/7/8. I prefer to sacrifice screen size a little for better pocketability.

Love the size, weight and overall feel of my XS Max in my hand. My hands are average sized I regularly use it one handed without any problems.

Always loved large screened devices. I actually would like the iPhone 12 Pro Max to hit 6.7-7inch display size if possible.

The Max is almost exactly the same size as the Plus phones, so no issues here.
I thought this originally, but the large bezels on Plus phones make the top and bottom of the screen a lot easier to reach. I could one-hand a Plus without too much trouble, but it's nearly impossible on a Max without shuffling the phone up and down in my palm.

Going from a XS Max to a standard 11 Pro this week. I have a feeling the 6.1" iPhone 11 is the sweet spot, but I really like the OLED and stainless steel.

I’ve had plus sized iPhones since the 6 Plus (except for the X), and I have no intention of going back to a smaller phone. When I pick up my wife’s 7, an 11 Pro, or even the 6.1” 11, I hate it. I wouldn’t mind the Pro Max being a bit larger.

If Apple hadn’t come out with the 6 Plus, I was going to switch to a Galaxy Note.

I love the Max iPhones. The weight is good. Feels great in the hand. I have no problems or discomfort using or carrying the device.

Is there a maybe option? Went from the X to the 11 Pro Max.

I'm still undecided if I like the extra size and weight. Having a bigger screen is really nice, but can be annoying to use at times as well. I loved my 5.8" and it might just be the perfect size/weight combo for me. I'll probably just live with this decision though, too much of hassle to try to exchange it.

It is just slightly too big.. but the XS is too small and the display is a pretty big feature of the phone.. so I am sticking with 11PM. Battery life is awesome.

I have been hammering it this morning.. over 4 hours of on-screen usage. Been off charger for 8 hours and I am at 75% remaining.

Hardcore fan of the larger phones here - just got the 11 Pro Max after 4 years with my beloved 6S Plus.

HOWEVER - the 11PM is a much less one-handed phone than the pre-X Plus; because of the unlock swipe-up from the bottom, and because the bezels are gone and the on-screen keyboard is much lower to type-and-balance the phone.

I'm bummed that Max really is a 2-handed phone now, but I'll adapt ... and love having the larger screen for photography & editing & battery, which is why I went for the 11 Pro Max this year.

I've used a big iPhone for the last four years & will never buy a small one. But — there's a caveat: I always use a Loopy case. (The case that has a finger loop in the back). Without a Loopy case I'd have dropped it at least 50 times by now.
I have biggish hands and the big phones are still too big to grasp securely- added to that their insane slipperiness.
With a loopy case, the big phones are more comfortable to hold in the hand than the small phones without. One handed use is no problem.

My previous 5 iPhones were the 6+, 6s+ , 7+, X and the XS. This time I wanted to return to the larger phone.

I got my iPhone 11 Pro Max on launch day. I am enjoying it and it’s manageable.

I previously had old style Plus devices, downsized to the XS last year because I felt like I wanted something that was easier to handle. Regretted it after a few months so have got a Pro Max this year.

Oddly, the Pro Max feels less cumbersome than my 8 Plus did and I can’t say I’m really noticing any negative side effects of the extra size.

Had the Pro since launch day and am now on day 2 with a Pro Max. I really enjoy it and it isn't as unwieldy as I'd expected. I have long fingers and found that I usually use two hands with the Pro anyway, so thought why not just try the Pro Max. I like that this phone has the display zoom option that is absent on the Pro in addition to various landscape mode options, also not on the regular Pro. Added battery life is icing on the cake. I previously had a OnePlus 7 Pro, the Pro Max is a little smaller and more ergonomic for me. Love it so far.

I’m find the Pro Max OK size wise but a little top heavy to use. So I’m sticking with the 11 and returning the Pro Max. Lovely device but not worth the extra £ for my use case.

I’m having a really hard time with this as well, I love the extra screen but it just doesn’t sit comfortably in my pocket and/or hand. I really do think that 6.1” size is the sweet spot but I really like OLED. I might just keep my XS from last year another year and decide from there.
