Maximizing New Battery Life

Hey guys,

I just got a new battery for my late 2008 macbook pro unibody (Bat model no: A1281)

How do I maximize my battery life in the following 3 scenarios:

1. Calibrating from new (do I drain first and then fully recharge, etc?)

2. Whilst on the desk, connected to magsafe

3. Whilst on my lap, not connected to magsafe
