Maxtor Hard Drive

Hey Guys Ive had a Maxtor external Hard Drive for a year or so, and it has done just fine. Then the other day I plugged it into my Macbook Pro and nothing showed up. So i plugged it into my macbook, nothing. Then I tried a different USB 2.0 Chord... nothing...

Any ideas?

Either the drive is crashed or the port is messed up.
Try taking the hard drive out of the case and putting it inside a computer.

1) Can you hear/feel the drive spinning/operating?
2) Does Disk Utility see the drive?
