May be upgrading to iPhone X tonight

So I think I’m just going to upgrade to the X tonight. Apple store is holding my X for pickup. As luck would have it, bad luck that is, I dropped my phone today and now have a small crack at the bottom left of my 7+. How strict is apple in the exchange department? Will they require me to fix the screen under apple care first before doing the trade in? Not worried about the costs, just looking to see what I may face tonight.

If you are currently on iUP and trading in, they will just use 1 of your incident and you are good to go.
 
I turned mine in with a very small crack in the top right hand corner and there was no charge to my account at all.

Yea it's quite possible that they won't charge you. Especially if it's just a single hairline crack and no damage to the sides at all then it's possible they won't charge you but if you were to drop the phone and there was a damage point that cause the screen to crack, they can charge you. It's up to the sales person there.
 
So, I did not update to the iPhone X when I made this thread, but I just ordered my X this morning and it's already preparing for shipment. I did have to fix my 7+ first under AC which only cost me $29. Looking very forward to FaceID :)

I know how that feels. My wife got really pissed at me when I woke up at 4 in the morning to pick up the X at launch day lol.

Once it's preparing to ship stage it can take couple of hours to 24 hours for it to update.

I got the space grey 256gb. I did purchase a case and glass protector from Amazon. My X shipped and is scheduled to arrive 12/14. Same day as my case :)

Actually I just don't tell my wife when I get a new phone. Fortunately for me, she's not a very observant person and never notices my phone is different today than it was yesterday. :)

Gotta avoid an argument before one starts. :)
