The 'Dashboard' is like a fourth Exposé function. You hotkey/corner in to access, and hotkey/corner out when you're done.

They are permanently displayed on your screen. There is nothing you can do about it. Just kidding ... they are displayed only when you want to see them. They are typically utilities you would like to have at your fingertips without having everything open at the same time.

Where can I learn the basics of widget writing? I've got rudimentary html/css/java knowledge, and I'd love to write one that searches for 'new posts' here on the MR forums.

I see many of you have the translator widget - how often do you actually think you'll be using it?

Also, I imagine once the novelty wears off, you'll have totally different widget collections - we'll have to do a now and then thread in a year or so, so save all the images for comparison.

Is that weather widget the same one that comes standard from Apple? Why is yours blue and some others are purple? Is the color customizable? 🙂

Maybe it changes color due to the temperature. 😉

It's blue during the day and purple at night. The moon-phase the night image shows is also correct. 😀
