maya vs cinema 4d which should i get?

hi, i was just wondering what program out of these two should i get? im a newbie when it comes to 3d but i want to learn on my spare time. What program is easier to use and that i can get a hang of and make some nice graphics and so forth?

why not get a demo of each. i am positive maya has one (at least i used it) not sure about cinema 4d thou
