I currently have the Ipad Pro 10.5 LTE that I use all the time for all my personal computing needs. I also have a Windows laptop that I use 100% strictly for work. I have had my Ipad Pro 10.5 for almost 3 years. It still works good, but have noticed some lagging sometimes that is solved for the most part with a reboot, and I have recently noticed that the battery drains quite a bit faster then it used to which is understandable I guess. I do a lot of writing on the Ipad with a cheaper bluetooth keyboard that has recently started to have issues (I have had it for as long as I have had the Ipad)

I have been looking at the new 2020 Ipad Pro LTE 11”, but I have not pulled the trigger. I have been reading all the threads here and reviews and watching the review videos about the 2020 Ipad Pro, magic keyboard setup. I have not been thrilled with what I read as far as what the new Ipad Pro and magic keyboard bring to the table as far as my personal use habits. I have no doubts that for some people the set up is amazing.

I want to try to hold out as long as I can for the next Ipad Pro that will hopefully have 5g, and maybe they will have a keyboard solution that will more suite my personal needs.

My thought now is to get a new cheap bluetooth keyboard and the Magic Trackpad 2 to use with my Ipad Pro 10.5. Keyboard is important for me and the trackpad less important. I like the idea of the smart keyboard folio I think if I had to get the Ipad Pro 2020 now, but I would like to see how Apple changes the keyboards, if at all. In the future if i get the next version of the Ipad Pro 5g I could get a keyboard that makes sense then and still have the magic trackpad 2 to use with it. Does anyone think the apple pencil would be a better solution then the magic track pad 2? I don’t do any creative drawing or any stuff like that and would only use it as an occasional mouse. I have read a bunch of the threads here and I know that everyone uses all these devices differently. Courious to hear people’s thoughts. Thanks in advance.

The K380 would do you well.

The nice thing about the keyboard and Trackpad 2 is that they will remain usable on new devices so it's a good sunk cost if they are useful to you. And it sounds like the trackpad may be a better choice than the pencil for your usage. I have both and would readily give up the pencil over the trackpad. And as you would need version 1 of the pencil for your 10.5 Pro, it will not be usable on future devices - you'll need the later version.
