"Beats are overpriced."
"They just look good."
"I can get a better headphones for a cheaper price."
"It's a fashion accessory, nothing else."
"Monster is an evil company."
"Listening to FLAC on these is real torture. They're made for 64 KBPS songs."
"I have an Audio Technica, and it beats the crap out of this headphones."

Yes, we all made these statements before. Do they sound familiar? Why don't we take a look at Mac haters' comments on Macs?

"Macs are overpriced."
"They just look good."
"I can get a more powerful laptop for a cheaper price."
"Apple is an evil company."
"It's just Skrillex's play/pause button. Nothing more."
"I have an HP, and it beats the crap out of the MacBook Pro."

Now, do they sound similar? But we know better than Mac haters. We all know that Macs are better for a reason.

This could apply to Beats by Dr. Dre too, you know. What are your reactions on this observation?

Your reactions reminds me of the comments on Mac vs PC at YouTube.

Beats are probably better for a reason, just as Macs are great for a reason.

"Bananas are overpriced."
"They just look good."
"I can get a better fruit for a cheaper price."
"Farmers are evil."
"You look gay with one in your mouth."
"I have an Apple, and it beats the crap out of the Bananas."

"Megan Fox is overrated"
"She just looks good"
"I can see another movie for a cheaper price"
"Hollywood is evil"
"She is just the pretty girlfriend of the main character"
"Mery Streep beats the crap out of her"

I buy the best quality, not a certain brand.

You sound like a young man/woman (15-25).

Beats look good?
If you want something which looks good, buy a picture!

Says the man/woman who thinks 6 CPU-cores are overkill for Photoshop/Lightroom & VMs.

No.

*lol* & ;-)

Yeah... No. $200 for some headphones is ridiculous. Panasonic or Sony has clones for $20.

Yes, they are priced high for a reason. The same reason cable manufacturers sell "super low oxygen ultra platinum plus" cables for $100+: the average person wouldn't know good audio/video if it bit them in the ass, and marketing is powerful.

Nasty replies you're getting on the question. Very non mac'ish more like the android forums IMO .
Here is my take, You and only You can determine if the Beats headsets are any good. I am a loyal Sennheiser fan for all audio. However my son is a Beats fan, his argument is that the Beats headset produce much more base than any of my headsets. And yes I have spent $400.00 + for the pair I use. But I prefer clarity in my jazz where he is into R&B and Rap. Last year I switch gears and picked up a pair of Weston UM4s which are highly rated. I enjoy those also for working out activities. But if base is what you want and it makes you feel good - get the Beats.
It just like macbook pro 2012 vs pc. For most people the use a computer to surf the web and email...period. So it is immaterial what computer they get Yet they still debate mac and pc.
My bottom line is the phones are only 1/3 of the equation. The player and the music encoding play a big part also. One thing I will say is that iPods & cell phones are on the low end of music reproduction. Your answer would be better addressed on a audio forum, those guys are nuts about their music. And don't get carried away with things sometimes less is more.

"Produces the sons the way that the artist indented." Doesn't ring a bell? Then sue Monster. .

I can make a pair of head phones too and say that. That means nothing. Monster are also over priced crap. Again you will never see any of these brands in a recording studio.

wow, you can't be serious...

Okay, I was just kidding when I said he's a doctor. But I was dead serious when I said the headphones produces music the way the artists intended it to be heard.

There's an evidence that this claim is true: No one has sued Monster yet. If it doesn't work as advertised, they would surely be dealing with lawsuits.

How could you deny that they look good? Remove the beats logo and it looks like Jony Ive designed it himself. It's simple, black and glossy. Three checklists for Apple's design.

Who do you mean would sue them? I can't tell if you're serious or not.

An audiophile spending $400 at a pair of headphones only to find out it's not as it's advertised ("Produces the sound the way the artists intended").

Then Monster could have been sued. I'm sure someone who's willing to spend $400 for an earphone can definitely sue them.

But where are the people who sues?

Can you argue with that?

I've looked at the beatsbydre.com website and looked at the different headphones. The only pair of headphones where they talk about sound as intended are the Studio ones, and it's clear that they're talking about Dr. Dre and his music specifically, not artists in general.

Could you link to a page where they claim what you say they do?
