my MB battery isnt functioning. In the statues bar it says "(Not Charging)" and when you remove the battery the computer goes dead. any ideas how to fix this?

Still under warranty? If you put in another macbook battery, will it charge it? Could be your battery is 100% dead and will no longer accept a charge.

Exact same thing happened to me today. Stupid POS MB! Been sitting for about two weeks since it's considered surplus to my requirements now that I've determined Air can handle needs.

Go to plug it in to charge it so I can reload OSX and give to an employee and zippo - nothin'. Starts w. charger but light stays green. Reset power management whatever it is and still nothin'.😱

Put in spare battery (bought since the original POS battery was down to 70% life,) and it charges fine.

Hopefully someone has a great fix but I'm figuring I'm hosed. Good bye to the MBB - I'll hardy miss ya.😉
