The other day my MB M1 Pro audio started behaving strangely. Using my wired studio headphones, I could hear the background music of a Netflix movie but couldn’t hear the dialogue of the actors. Their lips were moving but no talking could be heard. I tried shutting down and restarting but that didn’t solve the problem. I tried different headphones and the problem didn’t go away. I tried using Bluetooth headphones and the audio was stasticy. Without any type of headphones connected the audio behaved as expected. Finally I reinstalled Monterey and the problem still persisted. I discovered a work around. If I go into audio preferences and pan either all the way to the left or right, the audio works fine and does NOT sound like it’s panned!! What is the problem!
