    Hey everyone

I have been using my MBPro for the last three years to do astronomical image processing and the latest instruments and massive data release force me to do a RAM upgrade...

At home I also have an iMac with 8GB but also this is not enough, so I want to go directly to 16GB.

However, after reading some online introductions on which RAM kits I should buy I'm not sure anymore what the best solution is. I definitely want to go to 16GB but if that is not possible it should be 8.

Do you have recommendations which kit to buy, because in all online tools I can only find compatible 8GB modules...?!

    cheers

Only late 2009 and later iMacs can take 16 GB RAM, 2009 MBPs can only take 8 GB RAM, only 2011 models can take 16 GB (for now, they can theoretically take 32 GB RAM).

As for kits, any 204-pin DDR3 SO-DIMM RAM 1066 MHz / 1333 MHz kit will work.
