Hey everyone, been having a few problems upgrading the RAM in my new MB from 1 to 2 gb. After putting in the new memory sticks, they don't seem to fit in as firmly as the Apple sticks were, to the point where you could jiggle'em a little. No amount of pressure seemed to help.

Being a first time DIYer, I thought 'huh, must be normal, should be okay once I screw in the bracket'. Nope: bracket won't screw in quite flush now.

I put the battery in and boot up. MB boots up fine, notice some speed improvement, MB recognizes both new sticks. Used for about an hour, no problems.

So has anyone experienced this before? Did I go wrong somewhere with RAM installation? And is it even a problem if the MB boots up and recognizes it, or am I setting myself up for some fried hardware in the future if I leave things as they are now?

You really need to push HARD. There will be a noticeable CLICK when they go into place.
