MB running slow, tried to verify, it errors?

    Checking HFS Plus volume.
    Checking Extents Overflow file.
    Checking Catalog file.
    Checking multi-linked files.
    Checking Catalog hierarchy.
    Checking Extended Attributes file.
    Checking volume bitmap.
    Volume Bit Map needs minor repair
    Checking volume information.
    Invalid volume free block count
    (It should be 6409835 instead of 6409834)
    The volume Disk needs to be repaired.

    Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit


    1 HFS volume checked
    Volume needs repair

    happened to me once... not sure what i did, but here goes...

    you could:
    1. update to 10.4.10 and see what happens.
    2. back-up your drive, wipe it, and reinstall OS X.
    3. just re-install OS X.
    4. leave it. unless you don't really mind it running slow (which i guess you do, since you posted this), just let it be. it worked for me, but then i got a new HD because i needed a bigger one.
    5. bring it to an apple store. they'd definitely be able to help.

    Have you tried using the Disk Utility on the Mac OS X install disc?

    i used the one on my hard drive. above is the error i get

    Try the one on the Mac OS X install disk, it sometimes can fix hard drive errors that the one on your hard drive can't.
